Introduction
Resurrection was the last novel written by Tolstoy, and exposes the injustice of man-made laws and the hypocrisy of the church in Russia. It describes a story of a nobleman who tries to redress his past mistakes; particularly that of his affair with a maid which eventually leads her to lose her job and end up in prostitution.
