Introduction
Walden describes his two years of living in the woods, built near Walden Pond in Massachusetts. He tried to achieve self-sufficiency, independence from society, and to live in such a way that inspired self-growth.
On Civil Disobedience is an essay where Walden argues that people should not be compliant to the rulings of their government, and act on their consciences and moral compasses.
